Well, after thirty some years they completely wore out. I wanted to find a replacement that I could also use with my motorcycle so they needed to have grip soles, but most of all I wanted comfort. These new boots arrived and after working with the laces for a couple hours to get them to allow full movement without being too tight, they were as fully comfortable as my old boots. Took several tries with other brands, but these are great. True to size and the zipper side makes them easy to get on and off. I was wary about buying boots online but after shopping around for awhile and finding that most of the competitors with lower prices are not nearly so functional, I chose these and they have not dissappointed. I live in Minnesota and so wanted something reliable that would hold up all winter and still look nice. These fit the bill. Good points: Lighter than they look, all leather, very warm, ultimately comfortable, waterproof. Possible drawbacks: Limited sizes available, these are a bit painful to break in but it didn't take too long. Also the zipper sides are a little hard to close but even unzipped they are a snug fit. Sizes must run a little small because I was concerned that I had ordered a half size too big(I wear a 6 1/2, sizes stop at 7) but mine fit great!
